We approached the cover with a stark black and white portrait of Ellen with her wild hair forming a dramatic silhouette, as a physical representation of the rawness of her feelings expressed in the music. This was combined with handwritten typography adding to the intimacy in the design. The black and white skin is contrasted with a stark blood red inside, symbolic of the artist baring herself through her music to the world. This was a small production with very clear targets, where the use of good quality concept and design enhanced the value of this artist's intimate work.
